I have a friend doing a LFS install who is running in to a problem with the reiser4 root filesystem. We was wondering of there is a patch in the Gentoo tree for using grub with reiser4? _________________ Registered Linux User: 437619

You need a reiser4 enabled kernel if you want the root partition on reiser4.
The patch for grub is only needed if your /boot partition is also reiser4.
Last I checked, the grub patch was not in the Gentoo tree, but was available from namesys.com , but it seems that site is no longer working. |

after Hans' conviction doesnt seem like development on reiser4 picked back up, that may explain why the site has never come back up since the procedings. I really started to like reiser4 too |
