I just installed K3B .7 and it seems like a nice program, but I cant burn CD's. In the consol I type cdrdao disk-info and get the following:
Cdrdao version 1.1.5 - (C) Andreas Mueller
SCSI interface library - (C) Joerg Schilling
L-EC encoding library - (C) Heiko Eissfeldt
Paranoia DAE library - (C) Monty
Check »cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html#dt[?] for current driver tables.
Using libscg version 'schily-0.5'
/dev/cdrecorder: SONY CD-RW CRX160E Rev: 1.0e
ERROR: No driver found for 'SONY CD-RW CRX160E', available drivers:

sony-cdu948

ERROR: Cannot setup device /dev/cdrecorder.
Ok I know my burner is supported and is listed to use generic-mmc, which I tell the K3B to use, but I still get this error? /dev/cdrecorder points to /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/cd , where in /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0 there is a block device 'cd', and a 'generic Character device'.
Any ideas? |

Try pointing /dev/cdrecorder to the sg device instead? |

/dev/cdrecorder points to the correct device, sr0 points to the same thing /dev/cdrecorder points to, I added /dev/cdrecorder to satisfy cdrdao, which worked and didn't. |

No. /dev/cdrecorder needs to point to /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/generic NOT /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/cd. The cd device is for using it as a cdrom, the burner needs to use raw scsi commands. Which go through the generic device. |

I switched it so /dev/cdrecorder points to /dev/sg0 which points to generic.
Here is my output error from k3b trying to use cdrdao

I just realized I was only trying to simulate-write audio, I tried a sim-data and it worked fine, I wonder what the problem is with audio, is k3b just sensitive to audio? |

I happen to have the exact same cd-rw drive.
The fix for this is to get the latest driver definitions file from cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html#dt
replace /usr/share/cdrdao/drivers with the latest driver file and everything should be fine. |
