I just want to find out how many people are using Coda. What kind of a setup do you have (i.e. how big are the files, what are the number of files, do you have replication setup, etc.)? Is it in a production environment? How has it been running and what kinds of problems have you run into?

Right now I'm getting ready to setup AFS on my home network, but would like to setup Coda if it is viable. It seems really cool what with support for replicated read/write volumes (AFS only have replicated read volumes) and support for disconnected use (nice in a home environment for going on the road).

Last I looked into it was the beginning of this year and people were steering me towards AFS cause Coda was considered "not production ready". But I've been looking into it again cause it came up at work and with the latest releases of the Coda 6.0 line things are looking good.

So what's everyone's opinion/experience with Coda?

I was trying to setup Coda 6.0 at home and sort of got stuck with vice-setup not working on the server end. It bombed out trying to create the server config and the docs to handle it by hand are pretty non-existant.

Personally I'll be going with AFS at work, because I'm using it on a high availability setup and AFS is just more mature and much better documented.

But from what I've read up on Coda it would be perfectly fine for home use or a small office. It's just that the client can crash every now and then, depending on how it's used. Nothing major if you don't mind restarting it by hand.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Coda mature and stabilize though. I think it could be a killer app for Linux in the fileserver market at some point.
