# CRITICAL WARNINGS: ****************************************************** #
# ATHLON-4 will generate invalid SSE instructions; use 'athlon' instead. #
# PENTIUM4 will generate invalid SSE2 instructions; use 'pentium3' instead. #
# K6 markings are deceptive. Avoid setting -march for them. See Bug #24379. #
# *******************************************************

I have some questions about this.

First, my main system has dual Athlon-MP processors, I have heard that they are really quite similar to XPs and may have some of the same issues, anyone know?

Secondly, has this been fixed? Or should I emerge -eD world on my computers which were made with either the -march=athlon-xp or the -march=pentium-4 flags.

And finally, what does this exactly... do? The systems aren't noticably screwed up, come to think of it, but I may have not encountered it yet.

Thanks![/quote]

Are you completely sure?
That bug seems to be just about k6's
and it seems liek he said it should be added in addition to the pentium-4 things,
so was that just the k6 prob was fixed or everything?
(Just being sure)

if i remember correctly enabling SSE for these processors caused all sorts of weird errors, including random segfaults - i am not aware that it is solved, but i didnt specifically look for it...

Lucky me I've got one of the stupid ones.
