Hello!

I just wanted to update my system, when i found the following error:

During emerge of spamassassin, some files are not found. This happens with the stable and the newest package:
I get the following errors during emerge:

As there are now some new *.pre files, spammassasin didn't start anymore...

Can anybody help?

Thanks,
Vogi.

Hello
i found a temporary fix.
copy the file "spamassassin-3.2.1-r1.ebuild" to the portage overlay in the proper folder. it is not required but the fix will be overwriten once you do an emerge --sync.

edit the file and locate the line: src_install.
under this line, there is a line called: perl-module_src_install
i added make install there.

Code:

src_install () {
    perl-module_src_install
    make install
    # Create the stub dir used by sa-update and friends
    dodir /var/lib/spamassassin

once this is completed, ebuild spamassassin-3.2.1-r1.ebuild digest
emerge spamassassin
after, it should be installing properly
Regards

Hi!

Thanks for the solution - now I have the config files back again into place.
I wonder why this is happening now... the ebuils worked before.
Is it because of the new portage and/or perl?!?

And will this be fixed in further ebuilds or do I have to change some config to make it work again without an overlay?

Thanks and greets,
Vogi.

hello Vogi
i have no idea if this will be fixed.
i had to install it on 1 of my server but could not install it properly.
i had to create that mod so i can be back in business.
took me a while tho ti figure this one out.

Hopefully, the ebuild admin can figure out why this is not working and provide a permanent solution.

Regards

I had the same problem. I was halfway through filing a bug report when I decided to try one last "emerge --sync; emerge spamassassin", and it finally worked! So it looks like they've fixed it. I hope it's working for you guys now as well.
