i wan't to set up my gentoo as a webserver, but i wan't for each customer his own enviroment, so i think i set up one vserver an mount him so oft i need.
But at install i make a mistake, my filesystem is xfs and the Standardkernel has no support for the xfs but the vserver patch is for the standard kernel.
so berfore i install my system new i wanted to know if anyone run a vserver on gentoo ? |

wheres no problem to install the vserver on a gentoo system, i do it and it runs very fine.
my problem was ist was now vserver patch for the gcc-3.2, but now there is one and at this time i install them.
if i have a little more time i would make some ebuild-skripts for the vserver but it is no problems without this !!
uml is a very good think but has not the good performace as a vserver !
i will test the vserver and if i think its stable i would run my webservers with it

I installed succesfully vserver (wolk kernel) on a gentoo server. The main issue that I fond is that the vserver user tools (vserver scripts) from vserver web site, are fully for RedHat. Indeed, it requires linuxconf (???).
Now, I know that I can make a vserver manually, but it is a lot of work set networking, set the config files, etc etc etc...
Anybody had "gentoonized" the vserver scripts to create, maintain and administer vservers..??
I can start this ebuild, but it is some work, because it should make some task.
Anybody wants to share with me this task..??
Thanks a lot
