Hi there
I have my drivers installed for my wireless card(iwl3945).I have the microcode files installed.I have wireless-tools emerged.I have this line in /etc/conf.d/net:
Code:

modules=( "iwconfig" )

On the wireless how to for gentoo it says if you just want to connect to the strongest unencrypted access point then no configuration is necessary.So what do i do now?
Am i being dumb and i need to start something with /etc/init.d/SOMETHING start?.I don't get what i need to do now.Any help would be great.Also I'm afraid that adding lines to /etc/conf.d/net might confuse my existing wired connection
Thankx in advance

Hi, first before doing anything can you remove the line inside your /etc/conf.d/net

Also, can you post that plz :

Code:

# ifconfig -a
# iwconfig
# ifconfig wlan0 up
# iwlist scan

After that I will explain to you how to configure your wireless connection :P
