My new kernel never gets passed Code: | PROMLIB: Sun IEEE Boot Prom 'OBP 4.0.45 2001/02/08 14:33'
PROMLIB: Root node compatible:
Linux version 2.6.27-gentoo-r5 (root@hummingbird) (gcc version 4.2.4 (Gentoo 4.2.4 p1.0)) #1 Sun Dec 7 20:55:28 PST 2008
console [earlyprom0] enabled
ARCH: SUN4U
Ethernet address: 00:03:ba:04:a3:b4
Kernel: Using 2 locked TLB entries for main kernel image.
Remapping the kernel... done. | The next line with the new kernel is Code: | OF stdout device is: /pci@1f,0/SUNW,m64B@13:r1024x768x75 | For some reason I don't know which option is missing. _________________ cya |

The post seems rather cryptic to me though I do not use that architecture.
Question - is boot automounted or rather in fstab /boot isn't noauto is it?
On the off chance it is the same issue that bit me, I kept putting the new kernel into the mount point not on the filesystem. |

It doesn't even get that far... those are the first couple of lines of the kernel after the bootmanager started. _________________ cya |
