I have been trying to get compiz fusion to work... trying different things, doing this, and doing that. Somehow (maybe after I did the emerge --depclean), my keyboard no longer works. I tried a few different things... installing the (or a, not sure which) keyboard driver, doing Xorg -configure again... nothing. The keyboard works outside of the GUI but not in the GUI.

I searched online but found nothing for my problem.... Any help would be appreciated.

I'm using Gnome by the way, and I have the most recent version of Xorg. Its a fairly new Toshiba L300 Laptop, and the Gentoo Install is only a few days old.

I think my problem is that Compiz Fusion was not working, so I unmasked the most recent version of Xorg and installed it (with all its updated depenancies)... and then I did this, did that... Then I tried to go back to Xorg 7.4, I think or something like that... and did something wrong and it did not work like it should. I tried editing the etc/X11/xorg.conf file, I even did Xorg -configure again... and I installed some other keyboard driver... So far, nothing. I think I need to undo what I just did.

Oh yeah, and the keyboard stopped working after I did a update, then emerge --depclean and then rebuild the modules like the websites say to do.

And by the way, compiz fusion is still not working either. I have that on another thread. I am able to boot from Knoppix and CHROOT into the system and change settings that way.
