emerge: anything fails, obscure output

!!! Error: the <dev-perl/ExtUtils-MakeMaker-6.05-r6 package conflicts with this package and both can't be installed on the same system together.

i get the same msg every time i try to update something, doesn't matter what.

dun: emerge regen & rsync -> didn't help.

A search for `ExtUtils-MakeMaker-6.05-r6' turns up 56 matches, most of which contain the solution.
