Intel WebCam

Anyone have any luck getting USB webcams to work?
I dont know where to start, all I know is I have a USB Intel webcam from a year or two ago... not too helpful eh?

I had a intel cam a time ago, you need to compile your in kernel, as modules or monolitic (i suggest modules):

>Suport for v4l,

>Plug and Play support
(don't forget to emerge hotplug and add hotplug to default init level "rc-update add hotplug default" if you dunno how)

>Support for USB,(if your cam is usb, dunno others)

>Support for your usb Host Controller Interface(the right one is enougth, look dmesg)

>USB OV511 Camera support (most intel cams use these, dunno your model)

Some cams need I2C support i don't know about your model

You are a lucky guy, intel cams work like a champ in linux.
