|

I have two win partitions listed on fstab, I can use them with root, but with normal user, the partitions aren't mounted. And ofcourse, I have no rights to mount anything. Why partitions disappear, and how to fix?
PS: I had to use Internet Explorer to register here, Opera just hang up...weird... _________________ "Discipline is my sword, faith is my shield" -Overseer Grimal |

hi there...
well, maybe you need to select the correct access privilages for users in the root account, making sure that you give permission for all filesystem privilages. thats all the help i can give.. other than this, i have no idea!

Are you trying to say that non-root users cannot access these partitions or that it appears to non-root users that the partitions aren't mounted?
I am assuming the first, because the latter would make little sense (as the system must know the partition is mounted if root can access it). Did you put the correct options in your fstab to assign the gid and gmask (permissions) for the partitions?
The default for mounting a filesystem is to set the owner user and group both to root. |

Not sure if you're having the same problem, but you could try looking here...

I had similar problems but editing my fstab (as above) seemed to do the trick |
