|
|
I am trying to do a stage1 install on a brand new machine. Shortly after I start bootstrap.sh it quits with an error that says:
Code: | no such file sed-4.0.7.tar.gz |
It is trying to grab the file from:
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/sed/sed-4.0.7.tar.gz
If I browse though to the file manually I see that everything is replaced with files ending in *.back-RSN.README.
Now if I take a look at one of these files I see this message at the top:
Quote: | The following files are not available because their authenticity is being
confirmed. We expect to have them uploaded Real Soon Now (RSN). |
However self explanatory that is I notice the dates on these files as 8.2.03, the way I see it, this is not real soon (NRS).
Anyways, I have done some searching and I cant find any indication on this board that anyone else is having this problem. So perhaps I am doing something wrong? Or there is some other way I can get a copy of sed-4.0.7? Am I stuck with a system I cant bootstrap until the sed file is restored on the ftp server?
Thanks! |

Thanks i'll give it a try.
Meanwhile i find it odd that no one else seems to have this problem. Am I the only one to do a new stage1 install since 8.2 in all of Gentoo community? weird!
Thanks again

bmichaelsen,
Thanks for mirroring sed--very cool!
Would you mind adding texinfo-4.5.tar.gz (and other required GNU utils), too?
Regards. |

well, i had to upload sed via 56k.
But I made the distfiles that were already on the server available:
http://michaelsen.kicks-ass.net/bjoern/distfiles/
please be kind to the server - it is hooked to a private dsl-connection.
BTW this might be the reason ...
gnuftp was hacked ....
