i installed kde-3.1.3 manually (not using portage). after this I created a file named kde-3.1.3 in /etc/X11/Sessions in which is:

/usr/kde/3.1/bin/startkde

in /etc/rc.conf i have
XSESSION=kde-3.1.3

my problem is: when kdm starts and i try to log in i get an error saying something like kde-3.1.3 - cannot find file. after that X server restarts.

when i close x server (alt-k) and log in in console and then "startx" everything works great and kde starts.

i'd prefer not having to close x sever before logging, but normally log in using kdm.
any help would be appreciated
