UT 2k3 slow, sound problem?

Hi !

My PC is a 1.2 ghz Athlon, 280mb ram, 40gb HD, GF3 Ti 200.. well not the best, but it does its job.

Well, I have just bought UT2003, first trying to run it, there is no sound. So i searched the forum, and changend my .openalrc to use the SDL output. Well, now sound works, but the game is sloooow (~30 FPS on 800x600@16bit, low(!) details). Even changing the .openalrc device to alsanative (which i use) does not help

Without sound the game works *really* fast.
Can anybody help? Thank you!
