|
|
Hi All,
Can you please tell me how to install a lower version package using Portage (For e.g I want to install eclipse 3.3 but the current version in java-overlay is 3.4. So, how can I select version 3.3 to install.) Also, what is the command to tell the different versions of a package available.
Thanks

In the Overlay, there is currently no lower version than 3.4.1 available.
You can always specify specific ebuild atoms by using (in the case of eclipse) =dev-util/eclipse-sdk-3.3.1.1-r2 This would install this version from the normal portage tree.
To see which versions are available, use emerge -s to search for ebuilds. Or, better, install eix and use this to search within portage.
Cheers

You could also mask the latest version you don't want. Of course there has to be a lower version available, otherwise it gets really ugly. |
