|
|
Hi guys,
Mplayer used to work like a charm but now when I try to watch a film (mpeg4 or everything else), during playback it will pause for about 7-8 seconds and then it will continue playback. After a while it will repeat it and so on and so on and it won't say a single error log.
I tried with both the stable mplayer, the masked one and from third party repositories with no resolve. I tried ffmpeg 0.4.9, 0.5 and svn and I also, tried with alsa, oss, esd etc and three different versions of nvidia-drivers and even updated xorg-x11 to 7.4 with no solution.
I am desperate. I can not watch a movie because even Xine can not sychronize video and audio after a while and totem (the only player which works perfectly can not load subtitles even with the powertotem plugin on).
I have an nvidia 8400gs and totem plays even 1920HD Elephants Dream perfectly with smooth motion and fast seeking so is not a hardware problem.
What could be the problem?

I had the same problem awhile back. Getting rid of ~/.mplayer and ~/.config/smplayer fixed it for me. |

I have similar problem. But my KMPlayer stops after 11-12 sec for good... I really don't know where is the problem. It changed suddenly. I think I wasn't merging anything... maybe bittorrent only. This is strange. Of course SMPlayer solves the problem, but KMPlayer is still broken. The fact is that now it stops during every movie. I tried to install testing version but without any result.
Can you help? |

Maybe if you remove as well kmplayer's config files to work... |

With KDE 3.X you should have ~/.kde/share/config/kmplayerrc and ~/.kde/share/apps/kmplayer. Try Code: | find ~ -iname "*mplayer*" |

I'm using KDE4 so I removed Code: | ~/.kde4/share/config/kmplayerrc
~/.kde4/share/apps/kmplayer |
and now everything is working perfectly.
Thanks a lot! |

similar problem, reguardless of the app using the mplayer libs. Plays for almost 30 min and then just stops. will try this solution... _________________ "...as we enjoy great advantages from the inventions of others, we should be glad of an opportunity to serve others by any invention of ours, and this we should do freely and generously." -Benjamin Franklin |
