I am planning on deploying Gentoo on a set of servers, and am looking on doing the "build once, install many" method with emerge -b/-k. Now, I know that baselayout is not binary safe (although it's annoying that the only way to find something like this out is to read the comments in the .ebuild).
My question is, what other packages cannot be safely built and re-deployed as a binary package? |

It would be cool if portage prevented creation of such binary packages, or at least notified about it. _________________ Best regards,
