Was playing with the new Kubuntu release tonight and have troubles trying to get its Xorg up in a KVM guest. I knew I was in trouble when the default installer corrupted the sdl display and didn't want to do a desktop with either the vesa std or vmware displays. I just now decided to throw up my hands and fall back to the brain dead cirrus display which seems to actually work
Host is a kvm_amd (kvm 0.84) and an nvidia driver (will someone please convince whomever to get rid of the paravirt checks in the ebuilds? It really does work!) |

Just out of curiosity, what VM are you using?
Edit:
FWIW this is really a question better asked of the Ubuntu/Kubuntu forums, or the forums of the VM being used. |

kvm 0.84. Not sure if the display drivers are owned by them or qemu tho. |
