MSBlaster on Linux?

Hello,

I've used Linux (one distro or another) for about five years now, and the one thing I have always heard was that NO Windows based malicious code could ever infect a Linux box. Here's the problem, I just recieved a message from a friend that the MSBlast worm was sent to the email list attached with my email address. I told her that I use Linux and all, but she seems fairly certain that my comp is to blame.

Has anyone heard of the worm using Linux boxes? And if so, how do I get rid of it?

your friend is nuts. most things like that use peoples contacts (or address book) to forge an email from someone. thats why she thinks its you

I'm fairly certain there has not been an email version of the msblaster worm yet so she's if anything she's doubly wrong.

Tell your friend that the MSblaster uses Windows specific remote procedure call vulnerabilities. With this worm you don't need an email message to get infected, like the Code Red worm with the MS IIS (hmm that MS keeps popping up) that would search IP addresses and infect un-patched machines.
