Hello all, having a strange problem here with the Internet on my uni connection. The net used to run fine in both linux and windows, but after a "network upgrade" the net runs ok in windows, but terribly slow under linux. Pages will take forever to load, large files almost cannot be downloaded, but they work under winXP. I emailed tech support, they say they've had no complaints about it. I did see something when I compiled my kernel the other day about ISP's blocking ICMP Fragmentation Needed packets or something causing these effects. Maybe that has something to do with it... I'm wondering if anyone else has ever experienced something like this? I have a feeling tech support won't be able to help me, "linux isn't supported" or something similar. |
