Hi I have kde, xfce4 and gnome installed.
but I did a update and now there is no applications in the launch panel of either kde or gnome and in xfce4 the desktop is empty but all applications are there on right click.
Any advice would be appreciated. |

Right click, go to "Settings", then go to "Desktop" and see what the setting is for showing icons on the desktop. Also, just because the programs are in the global menu doesn't mean they're on the desktop. Those are two separate things.
By the way, are you running ext4? _________________ Git has obsoleted SVN.
10mm Auto has obsoleted 45 ACP. |

Hi thanks for reply.
I have the icons on the desktop and they launch ok,
but if I click on the application buttion in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen it is empty this is the same now in all desktops ie gnome, kde, xfce4, except in xfce4 all the applications are there when i right click on the desktop, but not in the panel menu. In kde 4.2 the computer tab is there and ok so is favorites and the leave tab all ok but put the mouse over the applications and it appears but is completely empty.
the upgrade that caused this did not complete because of blocks .
