[SOLVED] Hicolor fallback problem

Gtk fails to load hicolor icons installed in /usr/share/APPNAME/icons/hicolor/

Examples: GtkStatusIcon of gnome-power-manager, teleport buttons in gnobots2 (/usr/share/gnome-games/icons/hicolor/24x24/actions/teleport.png) (instead i get the image-missing icon) and playlist icons in the rhythmbox sidebar (no image at all).

If I mark hicolor visible in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/index.theme, do gtk-update-icon-cache and choose Hicolor in gnome-appearance-properties, those icons are displayed (but obviously, I don't get my default icon set).

Any ideas are appreciated.
