|
|
So, because I'm all |337or whatever, I play some games online. Some of these games use ventrilo as their out-of-game chat. I'd like to do this, and ventrilo works just fine under the latest wine, but for one catch: I don't really want my natural voice to be heard. I want to use a voice disguiser, and there are plenty for Windows, but I have no idea whether any of them work well under Linux.
What I would do ideally is this:
run a mic into the voice disguiser
the voice disguiser runs its audio output to the vent client under wine
vent gets the audio input and sends my altered voice to the server
hilarity ensues.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

I'm actually totally fine with a hardware solution, such as an outboard processor. With that in mind - and I already have a MOTU Ultralite mini-mixer - what would you recommend for such a device? All it really has to be is a box with a pitch-shifter dial that works for speech. I haven't found anything that does that really easily.
Thanks for the help,

there is the digitech vocalist type stuff.
that kinda thing has what i call (non pc) a tracheotomy man effect which i rather liked.
there are also quite a few linux tings out there - you can look into the vst plugins which have been ported.
there must be some kind of pitch shifting thing there...
you just need anything with a pitch shifter in and reverb or a modulation such a chorus or lfo. (hardware)
or go crazy with real time vsts over yerzen. if you figure low latency kernels and vsts out can you let me know cos im after ditching windows...
all the breast
