Do I have to set up postfix or sendmail to be able to use mutt? I currently use browser interface "webmail" to access my mail from my email server (POP3 or IMAP).

Is the email server local or isp provided? There is an excellent post in the forums for Mutt and The Single User which explains a lot of things. Basically, you will need something like fetchmail to fetch remote email. It can be delivered toyour spool by piping the email to procmail. I use postfix but I believe you can configure nbsmtp to send your email. Check the forums for the above mentioned post.
