I built a custom LiveUSB gentoo setup. Mostly because I was bored. But also so I have network and reiserFS capabilty on a EEEPC I bought and want to install Gentoo on. I could have used another distro, but I don't have it yet anyway..
It works, except for some grub nastiness. Since it can be plugged into different machines and booted, I have not yet figured out how to have grub and genkernel keep track of what drive to mount. Luckily fstab has UUID and LABEL options, but LABEL does not appear to work as a real_root option.. Suggestions? |

It works for me with DISKLABEL="yes" in /etc/genkernel.conf . However, most times it tries to find it to soon, and I have to hit Enter to make it search again...

Thanks! It boots and works perfectly. Im using reiser4 w/ gzip compression and its actually pretty fast on the boot. |
