hey all. i seem to have a problem with ogg files in BMG gnome-current. It seems that some of my ogg files were saved as "applicaiton/ogg" and nautilus requires "applicaitons/x-ogg" as a mimetype of ogg previews and icons.just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if it's a bug. I've tried going into /usr/share/mime-info/ and do some editing there, but nothing helps.
anyone got any suggestions? |

Just make another Mime-type in the GNOME config program called File Types and Associations. Configure it just like the application/x-ogg and you should be doing what you want... _________________ In the end, the love you get is equal to the love you make

yes, that would work, but alas it doesn't. gnome2.3.6's nautilus-media only allows ogg playback if the ogg files has a mime-type of "application/x-ogg" so changing it won't give me the previews/playback. that and the gnome-default set of icons only support gnome-mimetype-application-x-ogg not gnome-mimetype-application-ogg, so that means that i must cp that file, which is just tedious. |
