Hey, i'm trying to install the
"install-ia64-minimal-20090428.iso"
downloaded from the link on the main gentoo.org website.
I've run md5sum on the .iso file, and md5sum ont he iso, and burned it twice, the second time on 8x just to be safe. Other live cds boot fine. The gentoo one get to "Boot from CD:" and then hangs there indefinitely.
Some helpfull information, I'm using a gigabyte GA-EP45C-DS3K motherboard |

no, it's not an itanium... the c2q 9550 is a yorkfield core, which uses x86-64 technology compared to the itanium which is for high-end servers and uses the ia-64 technology. _________________
