I had trouble configuring key bindings in kahakai, and mozilla kept crashing, so I decided to try fluxbox for a while. So far it seems pretty good, and honestly feels a little bit more mature than kahakai (at least for the moment). :D

There's two things I want though, two things I've been trying to get to work for a long time. First in kahakai and now in fluxbox... I want to cycle the desktops with the windows key, and I want to do the same thing with the extra button on my mouse.

First question is about the keyboard. Here's what I have so far, xmodmap maps the windows key to F13, and ~/.fluxbox/keys has the line "Mod1 F13 :PrevWorkspace", so I can switch desktops with alt + win. Is there a way to get rid of the alt key here? I want just the win key!

Second question is the mouse button. Imwheel maps the mouse button to alt + F13, the combination specified in ~/.fluxbox/keys. But this only works if the mouse pointer is over a window. How do I make this work on the empty part of the desktop as well? (I know I could use the scroll wheel instead on the desktop, but it's irritating with different commands for the same thing!)

You can use the "None" prefix instead of Mod1, for example:

None F13

In my fluxbox keybindings, though, I have the windows key as Super_L (without xmodmap)

I can't believe it was that simple! :) Thank you! I know about the Super_L, but I couldn't map the mouse button to that and I wanted them to be the same, hence F13. Thanks again!
