all messages around error
Code:

you have two ways to go about this. You can either use rndis or you can do the serial method. If you want to do tethering ever (connect to your phone's internet from your computer), it's a ton easier with rndis (if it's possible on serial, it probably requires setting up ppp). However, the last touch pro owner on here (I have a kaiser...) said that he needed to run it in serial mode for it to work with linux.

The two modes are selected with a switch... in start-settings-connections-usb to pc. The selector on that screen, when it is on means rndis, and when it is off means serial (advanced network functionality vs no).

In rndis mode, you should get, assuming you have the right drivers installed, a network device, that you can set up and talk to the phone over. That should work with synce without issue (may have to tell it the ip's). However, as I said, the last fuze owner here had trouble.

When that doesn't work, switch to serial mode. You should get a usb-to-serial converter (make sure the ipaq driver is in the kernel as a module), which probably wil show up as /dev/ttyUSB0. From here you can use dccm, sync-serial-start, and those tools to get a connection to your phone over which you can use synce.

Of course, I never use synce/activesync/etc... I either copy stuff over the network, or use the microsd card :P

Hi, thanx for reply. Yeah I used connection through PPP just before few minutes. I was just wondered if there was any way of using rndis, but I don't need internet connection through USB, so I'll stick with PPP.

Thank you

Roman
