I just finished installing gentoo, got kde etc all more or less working. I noticed a problem during installs that occasionally the system would freeze. I had turned on ssh so I could get to the system remotely, and oddly enough, everytime I do something in ssh, connect, hit enter or whatever, the system unfreezes.
I don't think this is related to ssh running, because the system freezes without any incoming connections. As near as I can tell it appears to happen when trying to access something outside of the system (ftp, ping, tcptraceroute, browser or whatever).
Has anybody else seen anything like this? It appears to only affect/lockup the console - I have never had a remote connection freeze up.
