ICH10R raid0 for Win, but can i use kernel raid for Gentoo

I have a ICH10R raid0 set with Visturd on it and it is fine, however with the difficulties of onboard raid and the live or minimal boot cd I cant get dmraid to see the raid set at all.

I do however see the individual drives.

Can I still use kernel raid setup for the drives without killing the other partition or will that conflict.

I would like to get dmraid going though, just cant get it to see the sofware raid to get started. I read something about a bug in dmraid.

Ubuntu does see the raid set, but i would rather not have to go with that one. I am a Gentoo lackey.

I'm not sure it relates to or not but have you also enabled Windows Logical Volumes in your kernel?
