Hi
platform intel pIII 1Ghz , 512M ECC ram , 10G scsi quantum hd
1. installing of gentoo 1.4 +GRP --> should put gentoo noapic ,otherwise will get panic
2.genkernel took 30 minutes to complete .
3 install grub and reboot --> came out scsi bus is being reset for host 1 channel 0
4.installing FreeBSD 4.8
5 took 15 minutes to compile the kernel
6.cvsup ports supfiles and install kde-base +mosfet
7.reboot and now have a working FreeBSD platform .
maybe u peoples should think about instead came out the fancy stuff such as splash screen
, try to follow FreeBSD /stand/sysinstall ,maybe they are no fancy installation UI but still make things works ... maybe UFS is not as cool as reiserfs , but it workable and never have
data coruption in our production server .

Instead of incoherent yelling maybe you should ask for help, look for a bug in bugs.gentoo.org or, if you can reproduce this and think it's a gentoo problem, file a bug.
Cursing at us will cause your computer to turn green and melt |
