|

Well, I try to run
/usr/portage/games-fps/americas-army/files/armyops
(is this the right file?) if not, what is...
but when i do...
./armyops: line 3: cd: GENTOO_DIR: No such file or directory
./armyops: line 3: cd: GENTOO_DIR: No such file or directory
./armyops: line 3: cd: GENTOO_DIR: No such file or directory
./armyops: line 3: cd: GENTOO_DIR: No such file or directory
./armyops: line 3: cd: GENTOO_DIR: No such file or directory
./armyops: line 3: cd: GENTOO_DIR: No such file or directory
scrolls across the screen and doesn't stop...
any idea's? |

hi, you would run emerge americas-army, then you would run armyops... I believe 'armyops' is the executable, but you should never have to execute a program from inside /usr/portage |

run "etc-update && env-update && updatedb"
then do locate "armyops"
that should tell you where its at |

you have to be part of the "games" group to be able to launch it just by typing "armyops". to do this, add yourself to the "/etc/group" file under "games".

Is there any other way I can do this, because I'd like to apply it to a couple of other programs that I have installed that require me to be in thier directory to run. |

Games or other apps?
you might just have to add them to your $PATH if they're not games. |

What i know AA is installed in /opt/americas-army by default. Thats the way it installed when i emerged it (emerge americas-army). You also have to be in the games group to be able to launch games. _________________ DnB is my religion, Jungle is my church. |
