I am trying to build up a kde 4.x system on my Athlon 6000+ (athlon64) system.

My current challenge is installing pinentry, which is failing with the following error:

The odd thing is that I just reinstalled Qt-3.3.5 right before I did this.

How do I work around this?

Make.conf is as follows:

    bopper etc # cat make.conf
    # These settings were set by the catalyst build script that automatically
    # built this stage.
    # Please consult /usr/share/portage/config/make.conf.example for a more
    # detailed example.

This qt version is not in portage, did you build it yourself from source?

Looks like I got the version wrong...

      Calculating dependencies... done!
      [ebuild R ] x11-libs/qt-3.3.8b-r1

      * IMPORTANT: 1 news items need reading for repository 'gentoo'.
      * Use eselect news to read news items.

I have decided that the problem isn't a pinentry problem, because I got a similar problem with emerging qca also.

I eventually was able to get pinentry to emerge with a -qt3 USE flag.[/list]
