Hey everyone. I am quite used to compiling my own kernel, but would like to give genkernel a try. The only thing is, I would like to set certain options which make it into the kernels by default. i.e. pre-emptive kernel, optimize for Athlon XP instead of 386, etc. Is there a way that I can change the default options, or do I just have to run genkernel, then go back, make menuconfig, change what I want, and then compile the bzImage and modules again to obtain the results I want?

James

Use genkernel --config It will let you config like a manual kernel procedure but after you exit the config screen it continues with genkenel...
