|
|
I've installed Gentoo ok. Now I want to install some stuff from CD, but can't mount the CD. I've checked the kernel config has the approriate support in (I think)
Any ideas, what I am doing that's dumb? |

I've tried
mount /mnt/cdrom -t iso9660
mount /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom -t iso9660
mount /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom -o ro -t iso9660
In the /dev folder i cannot see any cdrom devices listed. Why would this be?
Thanks for any help! |

I am really stuck with this. It just says 'No medium' whatever, but I know the cd's are fine.
is gentoo different to other *nix's in the way you mount? |

yep
I think it is to do with the way I wrote the CD. I wrote them on a Windoze machine and I'm not sure the kernel has Joliet support built in?
That's what I'm thinking anyway, but I'll keep invstigating. |

Not at that server at the moment, but it was basically
'No media inserted'
I think it's the format the CD was written in?!? I'll check tonight |
