I have a SB PCI 512 card, it worked fine before with gentoo, but now it all screwy. Its supposed to be a 4.1 surround sound card, but I only have stero speakers so i plug my speakers into output 1 and my headphones in output 2. I used to be able to control the volume of either output in kmix. Now that i;ve reinstalled gentoo it dosent work like that anymore! Only one output works and only one speaker works on that out put. There has been too many changes between the gentoo i used to use and the one i use now so i cant find the problem easly. Last gentoo i just put emu10k1 into the kernel and it worked fine, and that was with the vanilla-sources. This time only soundcard support is in the kernel and i emerged emu10k1, and this is with gaming-sources.
Anyone know where to start? I've tryed putting emu10k1 support in the kernel but then sound dosent work at all then. |

must have been something wierd in my kernel. I unmerged emu10k1 and rebuilt my kernel with emu10k1 support compiled into it, works fine now. I did this once before and it dident work, maybe i forgot to unmerge emu10k1 first or something. ![Confused :?](images/smiles/icon_confused.gif) |
