[solved] Joystick not working after update(no /dev/js nodes)

Hello

Before i moved, my Speedlink Strike2 USB gamepads were working like a charm. Now i moved and since i hadn't updated a long time ago, i decided to reinstall my whole gentoo box. New house, new install, you know..

The matter is that since i reinstalled my box, my gamepads weren't working again. I also don't know what versions of some programs i had on my old box. i just know that the joypads were working. Currently i'm using a 2.6.29-r5 gentoo kernel with all related joystick supports and modules compiled in. lsmod shows joydev as loaded and messages show that the controller is getting recognized but i don't get any /dev/js* nodes.

I'm currently not at home so i will provide outputs later, maybe someone can give my a hint without any output.

Solved. had to copy the basic udev rules and modify the js part to not put generated nodes into /dev/input.
