|
|
When i try and run zsnes, it changes to a fullscreen mode and seems to hang, with my monitor turning off into standby, until i press ctrl+c, which leaves me at a terminal screen, meaning i have to shutdown x and start it again Has anyone else had this problem, or am i doing something wrong?
I'm running on:
AthlonXP 2400+
EpoX 8RDA+ nforce2
Radeon 8500
Ati-Drivers 2.9.1
XFree 4.3
glxgears seems to run fine, (ie it does 350 frames in 5 seconds = 75fps, which corresponds correctly with me ahving enabled vsync).
thanks |

Did you apply the nvgart patch to and compile in nVidia AGPGART support into your kernel? Your problem could be that ZSNES is trying to switch to an OpenGL mode which won't be supported until you enable nForce AGPGART support in the kernel.
The patch is included with 2.61 of the Linux nForce drivers so if you've already emerged the audio or LAN drivers you most likely already have the right tarball on your system so just type:
Code: | cd /usr/src
tar zxvf /usr/portage/distfiles/NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0261.tar.gz
cd linux
patch -p1 < ../nforce/nvgart/linux-2.4.20-agpgart.diff
make menuconfig |
Then going into the 'Character Devices' section and select "AGP Support" to be compiled as a module and make sure only "NVIDIA Chipset support" is selected underneath. _________________ Wasurenaide...

Yes, i am running a patched kernel, all other accelerated apps work fine, ie Enemy Territory, Tuxracer, glxgears etc etc. |
