Hello,
I'm using a Gentoo amd64 system (with multilib) and recently upgraded from xfce-4.4 to xfce-4.6 as it became stable in portage.
Before, my firefox-bin 32 bit worked like a charm, but now it looks ugly (like plain old GTK apps). I believe that something went wrong with the update. One clue I have is this error message when I start it :
Code: |
$ firefox/firefox
(firefox-bin:8191): Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libxfce.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
|
Surprisingly it tries to load lib64 libxfce instead of its 32bit counterpart that is installed :
Code: |
$ locate libxfce.so
/usr/lib32/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libxfce.so
/usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libxfce.so
|
It might also be some gtklibs that weren't correctly updated while the XFCE upgrade but I cannot figure out which one.
I also have this problem with 32 bit thunderbird-bin which makes me think of a more general gtk / configuration problem rather than a specific issue with firefox.[/code]
I did ldd on all binary and shared object files in the firefox folder but it didn't mention libxfce and there was nothing anormal (no lib64 libs referenced or so).[/i]
Here's my emerge --info :

Are you using the latest unstable gtklibs? I think it is necessary. |

I'm using app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-gtklibs-20081109 which is the latest in portage. |
