since moving /tmp to different partition.
Code: |
Error: Can not create directory "/tmp/kde-ikke".
Error: Can not create directory "/tmp/kde-ikkeVuhaVg".
startkde: Call to lnusertemp failed (temporary directories full?). Check your installation.
Warning: Missing charsets in String to FontSet conversion |
I recently made a 64bit install with ext4.
Before that I had 32bit/ext3 and /tmp on a seperate partition w/o any problem.
I now have the following setup: Code: |
/dev/sda1 /boot
/dev/sda2 / (including /tmp)
/dev/sdb1 /var
/dev/sdb3 /home |
I want to have /tmp on /dev/sdb2 but kde won't let me.
All partitions are ext4 except /dev/sda1 which is ext2.
With /tmp on sda2 everything works fine.
I am using kde-3.5.10.
I would be very grateful for a solution.

The same disk can be used for 32 and 64 bit installs.

I have same problem, when /tmp be symbolic link to directory. I resolved it by use mount --bind /dir /tmp.
ps Check permissions for /tmp |

Thanks SerEga,
Never thought that would be the problem.
When /tmp is part of / the chmod is 4177.
When I enable it on /dev/sdb2 it was 41755.
I set it to 41777 and now it works ok.
