|
|
So I just recently upgraded my kernel to 2.6.29-r5 and have been having some trouble with my ATI video card (Radeon HD 2600XT) drivers. Now I've done some reading around Bugzilla and the forums, and it appears that the official ati-drivers ebuild doesn't support the 2.6.29 kernel.
I would like to keep my system as stable as possible, but I'm not sure how I should go about doing that.
Is there some general consensus on how to get fglrx to work?
EDIT
So apparently, these are my options:
A) Downgrade my kernel
B) Apply the available patch from bugzilla
My prospectives with Option B don't look very bright since apparently, you get a huge load of kernel errors which is clearly not desirable for a supposedly "stable" system.
So now my question is, what would be the "best" combination of kernel version and ati-drivers version should I use? I don't mind using keyworded versions as long as it works. |

And what version of ati-drivers would work with 2.6.30? |
