how? cups printer class with duplex capabilities

I'd like to share my printer (hp deskjet with duplex unit) with cups (on my gentoo server) in my local network. I still have a w2k client that cannot access the printer directly but needs a printer class!? I couldn't find an option so far to activate duplex for a printer class.

So I need to know one of the following:
- can w2k access the printer directly (without a class)? If not,
- can duplex be activated for a printer class?
