Hello,
Trying to emerge qt-5, it fails early on with the error:

ACCESS DENIED mkdir: /usr/qt/3/etc/settings
QSettings::sync: failed to open '/root/.qt/qt_plugins_3.2rc.tmp' for writing

which is repeated dozens and dozens of times. I suspect the reason is that I don't have a /usr/qt/3/etc directory, so the mkdir is failing. I just made the directories by hand, we'll see if it works now.
This is not the first time I've emerged qt-5, and I've not had this issue before. Does it sound familiar to anyone? Maybe one of my environment variables got messed up?
EDIT:
Well, creating the /usr/qt/3/etc and /usr/qt/3/etc/settings directories manually seems to have fixed it. Weird that it all of the sudden needs this directory, when it didn't need it on previous emerges...
