Getting a seg fault error repeatedly when trying to bootstrap.sh a new box. When it gets to glibc 2.3.2-r1, it spits this out:
Code: |

My system uses AMD K6-2 @ 475 MHz (actually a 500 MHz CPU that I had to "underclock" to get working with the old motherboard I have in it). It has ~300 MB of RAM.
I had Gentoo 1.2 installed on it in the past without trouble (other than not being able to get ALSA to work), but wiped it and put Gentoo 1.4_rc4 on it to use as a server for my website.
I am doing this remotely, via SSH.
Here is my make.conf file:
Code: |
USE="-alsa apache2 crypt -esd -gnome -gtk imap ipv6 java -kde ldap libwww maildir mcal memlimit mysql ncurses -oss pam -pcmcia perl python -qt readline ruby sasl spell sse -ssl -tcltk usb -X xml xml2 x86"
CHOST="i586-pc-linux-gnu"
CFLAGS="-march=k6-2 -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"

You might need to underclock more than that. Try underclocking your memory too, it may get rid of the Segmentation faults. |
