How to select Apache modules before compiling in Gentoo?

Hi all,
I was just wondering how to specify the required modules when I am emerging Gentoo on my PC. When I say emerge, it just starts downloading and compiling...I am confused at what stage can i specify the conf details...

Normally all modules distributed with apache are built. If you need to pass specific options to ./configure you have to change the ebuild or read the appropriate section of the FAQ.
