Hello all, I was hoping to get a hand with some problems I'm having with my 1000HE.

First off, I'm a little rusty with Gentoo on systems with a display. I run some headless clusters where any optomizations - outside of processing and memory - just aren't needed.

With that being said, my first problem is with power savings. I've got ACPI enabled and "gnome-power-manager" has the flag enabled, but the applet won't show me if I'm on AC or battery. Also, gnome itself doesn't seem to be aware of the two power states. Under the power settings option there is only one power state, AC Power.

Sleep nor hibernate work either which is distressing.
