Tach auch....
Ich habe mir gerade webmin "gemerged" wenn ich nun im browser http://localhost:10000 eingebe oder auch die ip als localhost kommt verbindungaufbau verweigert.....
was muss ich wie und wo einstellen das es geht???
einer ne idee.....?

Hi toter,
hast du es auch gestartet? Ein /etc/init.d/webmin start sollte helfen.
Ansonsten kannst du probieren es mal mit SSL zu probieren:
https://localhost:10000/
Du solltest besser auch den Standardport ändern, weil für solche kritische Anwendung Standardports nid so der bringer sind

Ist vielleicht ne blöde Frage, aber hast du Webmin auch gestartet nach dem emerge?

Und damits auch nach dem Reboot noch klappt natürlich

apropos webmin... in der aktuellen c't hab ich n screenshot gesehen, auf dem man die init scripte via webmin verwalten kann. auf der entsprechenden seite (blabla/init), kann ich allerdings nur runter fahren und rebooten... was muss ich tun?

Gentoo hat leider ein etwas spezielles Boot-Konzept, das mit anderen Linux-Distributionen nicht kompatibel ist.
Ich bin zwar auch noch nicht Chef in dieser Sache, aber ich würde behaupten, wenn Du Webmin nucht umschreibst, funktioniert es nie...

also so wie ich den ct artikel verstanden habe, ist sowohl die struktur (start, stop, restart etc...) als auch der pfad (/etc/init.d/) in gentoo absoluter standard... da hätte ich doch gedacht, dass das klappt^^
