No scan results: wmp300n wireless help

Im trying to setup my gentoo box with wireless. Im using the broadcom-sta drivers and I believe everything is installed correctly. However when I try to scan I get No scan results when I know for a fact there should be a wpa2 or wpa network. Can someone help me figure out whats going on and how I can get my wireless networks to be visible? Just let me know what you'd like to see and ill post it.
